Ethicon PROLENE Polypropylene Suture - Non-Absorbable Monofilament Surgical Sutures

The Ethicon PROLENE Polypropylene Suture range from Ethicon consists of non-absorbable monofilament surgical sutures manufactured from isotactic crystalline polypropylene. Designed for permanent wound support, PROLENE sutures offer excellent tensile strength retention, minimal tissue reaction and smooth passage through tissue.

The monofilament construction reduces tissue drag and lowers the risk of bacterial adherence, making PROLENE sutures particularly suitable for use in contaminated or infection-prone surgical sites. Their flexibility and handling characteristics allow for secure knot placement while maintaining long-term stability.

PROLENE Polypropylene Sutures are widely used in cardiovascular surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, skin closure and soft tissue approximation where durable, non-absorbable support is required. Supplied sterile and single-use, this department includes a comprehensive range of USP sizes and needle configurations suitable for hospitals, operating theatres and specialist surgical environments.
