The Ethicon MONOCRYL™ PLUS Antibacterial Suture MCP3288G is a sterile synthetic absorbable monofilament suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25, designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation.

MONOCRYL™ PLUS sutures are coated with IRGACARE® MP (triclosan), an antibacterial agent that has been shown in vitro to inhibit bacterial colonisation on the suture surface. This antimicrobial protection helps reduce the risk of bacterial attachment to the suture during the critical wound healing period.

The monofilament construction allows for smooth tissue passage while minimising tissue trauma and reducing the potential for bacterial adherence compared with braided sutures.

MONOCRYL™ PLUS sutures are dyed violet for improved surgical visibility and provide excellent handling characteristics, consistent knot security and reliable absorption.

Poliglecaprone 25 has been shown to be non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and associated with minimal tissue reaction during the absorption process.

MONOCRYL™ PLUS sutures are commonly used for soft tissue approximation in general surgery, plastic surgery, subcuticular skin closure and other procedures where antibacterial suture protection may be beneficial.

The suture is supplied attached to a surgical needle and packaged sterile for single-use surgical procedures.
