The Ethicon MONOCRYL™ Absorbable Monofilament Surgical Suture C3060 is a sterile synthetic absorbable monofilament suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25, a copolymer of glycolide and ε-caprolactone.

MONOCRYL™ sutures are designed to provide excellent handling, smooth tissue passage and reliable knot security, making them suitable for a wide range of soft tissue approximation procedures.

The monofilament structure minimises tissue drag and reduces the potential for bacterial adherence compared with braided sutures, supporting clean wound closure and predictable healing.

This version of MONOCRYL™ is dyed violet using D&C Violet No.2, improving visibility during surgical procedures.

Poliglecaprone 25 has been shown to be non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and associated with minimal tissue reaction during absorption, allowing reliable wound support during the early stages of healing.

MONOCRYL™ sutures are commonly used in general surgery, plastic surgery, dermatologic procedures and subcuticular skin closure, where smooth tissue passage and predictable absorption are important.
