The Ethicon SURGICEL® NU-KNIT™ Hemostat 6 × 9 inches (1946) is a sterile, absorbable haemostatic agent composed of a densely woven knit of oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC). Designed for adjunctive haemostasis, NU-KNIT™ assists in the control of capillary, venous and small arterial haemorrhage when conventional methods such as ligation or cautery are impractical or ineffective.

The dense woven structure provides enhanced haemostatic performance compared to standard knitted formats, making it particularly suitable for continuous oozing bleeding situations. Upon contact with blood, SURGICEL® forms a gelatinous mass that provides a matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, facilitating clot formation.

The material is fully absorbable, with a typical absorption time of approximately 7–14 days, and is ready to use directly out of the package. The 6 × 9 inch format provides broad surface coverage for larger operative fields requiring reliable bleeding control.

Supplied sterile and single-use in a Box of 10, product code 1946 is intended for professional surgical use and should be stored at controlled room temperature (15–30°C). Shelf life: 5 years.
