The Ethicon SURGICEL® Powder CE Absorbable Hemostatic Powder (3023SP) is a sterile oxidised regenerated cellulose (ORC) powder supplied in a prefilled applicator containing 3 grams of haemostatic material. Designed for adjunctive haemostasis, SURGICEL® Powder assists in the control of capillary, venous and small arterial bleeding when conventional methods such as ligation or cautery are impractical or ineffective.

The powder format allows precise delivery directly onto targeted bleeding surfaces, particularly in irregular or hard-to-reach areas where traditional fabric haemostats may be less suitable. Upon contact with blood, the ORC powder forms a gelatinous mass that provides a matrix for clot formation and supports haemostasis.

SURGICEL® Powder is bactericidal due to its low pH characteristics against a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms. The material is fully absorbable and gradually resorbed by the body during healing.

Each applicator contains 3.0 grams of ORC powder and is supplied sterile and single-use. Product code 3023SP is packaged in a Box of 5 units and should be stored at controlled room temperature (15°C–30°C). The product must not be resterilised.
