LuxSutures CATGUT CHROM Veterinary Absorbable Sutures are natural monofilament sutures manufactured by LuxSutures from purified connective tissue (catgut) and treated with chromic salts to extend tensile strength retention and slow absorption compared to plain catgut.

The chromic treatment reduces tissue reaction and delays enzymatic degradation, allowing LuxSutures CATGUT CHROM sutures to maintain wound support for a longer period during healing. This makes LuxSutures chromic catgut sutures suitable for veterinary procedures where short-to-medium term wound support is required.

This LuxSutures CATGUT CHROM variant is supplied in USP 0, 50 cm length, and presented in a cassette format, allowing controlled dispensing during veterinary surgical procedures. The characteristic brown colour reflects the chromic-treated catgut construction.
